EXAMINATION ACT.

ORISSA ACT 2 OF 1998
THE ORISSA CONDUCT OF EXAMINATION ACT, 1998
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR PENAL ACTION FOR
ADOPTION OF UNFAIR MEANS AT CERTAIN
EXAMINATIONS HELD IN THE STATE AND OTHER MATTERS CONCERNED
THEREWITH
It is
enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the thirty ninth year of
the republic
of India as follows :
1. Restriction on Fake Papers :
No
person, shall procure, possess distribute or otherwise publicize or cause to be
publicized any question paper as being the one or purporting to be one that is
to be given or likely to be given at ensuing recognised examination.
2. Prohibition of loitering etc. near
Examination centre etc.
a)
No person, save in the discharge of his duties shall during the hours when a
recognised examination is conducted at any recognised examination centre or
where any evaluation or tabulation work relating to a recognised examination is
done.
b)
Two hours preceding the commencement of such examination evaluation or
tabulation work on any date on which such examination is conducted or evaluation
or tabulation work is done.
3. Refusal of duties connected with examination
prohibited :
No person assigned with invigilation work or superintendence of
any rcognised examination at any centre or any other work connected with such
examination or evaluation, tabulation or publication of results of such
examination shall refuse, save under circumstances beyond his control perform
the work or duties so assigned.
4. Penalty :
Whoever contravences any of the provisions of Section 3 of 8
shall, on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend
to three months or with fine which may extend to three thousand rupees but
shall, not be less than five hundred rupees or both.
5. Investigation etc. :
1)
An offence under this Act. shall not be investigated by an office below the rank
of a sub-inspector of Police.
2) All
offence under this Act shall be cognizable and non-bailable.
University Regulation
Regarding Attendance, Examination, etc...
(I) ATTENDANCE
A
student is required to attend at least 75 percent of the General Lectures, 75
percent of the Tutorial/Practical Classes. Attendance will be counted separately
under each head.
Condonation of attendance between 60 and 75 percentage may be granted in
exceptional cases.
Students are advised that their application for leave of absence on medical or
other grounds though supported by relevant documents will not be entertained if
they do not inform through the messenger to the Principal in writing about it on
the first day of absence.
Non-collegiate candidates in Science faculty are required to do practical work for a month and to obtain a certificate from the Principal of their having done so, before they are permitted to sit for their examination.
